Closet doors in Moreno Valley, CA

Sliding, bifold and mirrored closet doors with new track and hardware, so they glide instead of jump.

Closet doors

Most closet doors fail at the track.

A closet door that jumps off its track is rarely a bad door. Most sliding closet doors ride on rollers in a track, at the top or the bottom depending on the door, with a guide at the other end to keep them lined up. Bifolds turn on a pivot at the jamb and follow a guide at the top. Those are small parts doing a lot of work, and after years of daily use the rollers flatten and the track bends. That is why new track and hardware go in with the doors. The door is what you see. The track is what you feel every morning.

The common mistake is measuring once and ordering. Closet openings are rarely true, so the width has to be checked at the top, middle and bottom, and the height on both sides. A wall that bows or a floor that slopes can leave a gap down one side, or make a door drag at one corner. Carpet adds its own trouble, because anything fastened to the floor has to reach something solid underneath. Mirrored doors raise the stakes, since they are heavy and show every gap. A sloppy install on a mirror door looks crooked from across the room, and you will notice it daily.

Picking a style comes down to the room. Sliding doors stay inside the opening, so they suit a bedroom where the bed sits close to the closet, but you only reach one side of the closet at a time. Bifolds open up nearly the full width and need some clear floor in front. Mirrored doors make a small room feel bigger and can save you buying a separate full length mirror. Measure how far your furniture sits from the closet, then send us a photo of the opening and tell us what bugs you about the doors you have now.

1985

That is the median year built for a Palm Desert home.

It comes from Census data, and it means a typical closet there has seen about 40 years of mornings. Rollers and track do not last forever.

Questions

Closet door questions.

Do I need new doors, or just new track?

If the panels are warped or chipped, replacing the whole set makes sense. If they still look good and only the hardware is worn, say so when you reach out and we will tell you what we see.

Can mirrored doors go where I have bifolds now?

Usually, as long as the opening is a good fit. Mirrored doors are heavy, and the track has to fasten to something solid. We check that when we come out to measure.

Will sliding closet doors work on carpet?

Yes, but the type of door matters. Top-hung doors clear the carpet, and the floor guide only keeps them lined up. Doors that roll on a bottom track need that track fastened down firmly. Tell us what flooring you have when you reach out.

What areas do you cover?

Moreno Valley and the whole Inland Empire, plus Palm Springs, Palm Desert and the rest of the Coachella Valley.

Are you licensed?
